Core24 Raises $24,000 for North Texas Giving Day!
By Sarah Wange, Dallas Market Leader at Core24
Core24 is a network of experts comprised of 24 core competencies that just about every organization needs at some point in order to be successful. Each Core24 endorsed expert has successfully completed an extensive due diligence process and one important characteristic we look for is community involvement, because we believe companies do well by doing good. We are honored to count Communities Foundation of Texas (CFT) among our members and they are our expert for the Community Affairs category.
CFT hosts North Texas Giving Day, which is an annual 18-hour online giving extravaganza for North Texas nonprofits that helps build awareness and support for nonprofits in the North Texas region. Since 2009, Communities Foundation of Texas’ North Texas Giving Day has pumped more than $195 million, for more than 2,700 local nonprofits, into the North Texas Community. In 2017, $39 million was raised through more than 132,000 gifts benefiting 2,723 nonprofits. Several Core24 companies are members of Communities Foundation of Texas, so we saw an opportunity to challenge our network to collectively raise $24,000 for the 2017 North Texas Giving Day and we are proud to announce that we exceeded that goal!
Core24 companies made contributions to 86 different local nonprofits making an incredible impact and providing support to a variety of causes including The North Texas Food Bank, SPCA of Texas, American Cancer Society and Big Brothers Big Sisters among many others. “The North Texas community has once again blown us away with their generosity, said Susan Swan Smith, Chief Giving Day Officer at Communities Foundation of Texas and North Texas Giving Day Team Lead. “Raising funds for local philanthropy is more important than ever, and we are deeply grateful for the donors, nonprofits, volunteers and partners who make this event possible year after year.”
