Sendero and Waldman Bros. share this recognition with only 33 other small Dallas-Fort Worth companies, ranging in size from 50-149 employees.
Management consulting firm Sendero has 82 D-FW employees and was ranked 21st on the list of small companies. Sendero’s company culture supports monthly happy hours, a surprise employee appreciation week, and an employee-created charitable umbrella, appropriately named Sendero Cares.
Ranked 32nd among small companies, Waldman Bros., a financial services and employee benefits firm with 54 D-FW employees, has empowered its employees to create and sustain their own unique culture. Employees choose the events and causes in which they’d like to participate in the areas of philanthropy, wellness and entertainment. Examples include a Cinco de Mayo party, a donation drive benefitting Genesis Women’s Shelter, and Weight Watchers.
“To be honored for the second year in a row reinforces Waldman Bros’ ongoing commitment to provide a workplace where all employees feel appreciated, combined with an opportunity to expand their careers,” said Stephen A. Waldman, CEO of Waldman Bros. “We pride ourselves on fostering a strong culture that encourages and rewards success in a family-friendly environment.”
The DMN received hundreds of nominations for the 2015 Top Places to Work competition from a variety of sources, including employees, company leadership, and even fans who don’t work for a specific company, but admire its workplace environment.
The nominees are vetted by WorkplaceDynamics, an independent research firm that uses confidential employee surveys to select and rank the winners. This year, WorkplaceDynamics analyzed 81,344 surveys submitted by employees from 319 participating D-FW area companies.
“We are thoroughly pleased to be honored as a Top 100 Places to Work. But most important is that our people are the ones who decided that the company is a Top 100 Place to Work. It takes talent and passion to make us who we are,” said Bret Farrar, founder and CEO of Sendero.
